Course Overview:

 

This course is designed to equip participants with basic knowledge and skills required for fire fighting in South Africa. Participants will learn about the different types of fires, the causes of fires, and the proper use of fire fighting equipment. They will also learn how to prevent fires and how to respond in the event of a fire emergency.

  • Understand the different types of fires and their characteristics.

  • Learn the causes of fires and how to prevent them.

  • Understand the principles of fire safety and evacuation procedures.

  • Learn how to use fire fighting equipment effectively and safely.

  • Understand the importance of teamwork in fire fighting situations.

  • Understand the role of the fire department and how to request their assistance.

The course will be delivered over 1 days, with a total of 8 hours of training.

Assessment:

Participants will be assessed through a combination of written tests and practical exercises. Participants must achieve a minimum of 70% in both the written and practical assessments to receive a certificate of completion.

Certification:

​

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of competency in Basic Fire Fighting (L1)

​

Prerequisites:

​

There are no formal prerequisites for this course. However, participants should have a basic understanding of English and be physically capable of operating fire fighting equipment. years.
